Medication Dose Calculator

Calculate the amount of prescribed powdered medication to incorporate into TAV fish food.

Veterinary-directed calculation tool. This calculator assists with arithmetic only. It does not select a medication, prescribe a dose or determine treatment duration.

Which calculator mode should I use?

Choose the starting information you already know. Both modes use the same prescribed medication dose and feeding-rate logic.

Food Batch: start with the dry food quantity you are preparing. The calculator determines the fish weight represented by that ration and the medication quantity to add.

Enter the dose to be delivered in the prepared daily ration. Dose entered is outside the displayed reference range. Verify the prescription.
At 1%, each 1 kg of fish receives 10 g food/day.

Treatment Course: start with the approximate combined live weight of the fish being treated. The calculator determines the daily food allocation and total food and medication required for the prescribed number of days.

Enter the prescribed dose for the daily ration. Dose entered is outside the displayed reference range. Verify the prescription.
Estimate the total live weight of the fish being medicated. Example: average neon tetra weight ≈ 3 g; 30 fish × 3 g = 90 g combined live fish weight.
At 1%, each 1 kg of fish receives 10 g food/day.
Used only to estimate how many packs are required.
For animal use only. Use medicated food only under veterinary direction. Check the calculated result against the veterinary prescription before preparing or dispensing medicated food.
