Aquarium Care 101
Aquarium Care 101 is an introductory training course designed to teach the essential principles of maintaining a healthy aquarium. You'll learn about the most important water quality parameters, how they affect fish health, and how to recognise and prevent some of the most common health issues seen in pet fish.

The Aquarium Vet team has more than 50 years of combined veterinary experience working with aquariums of all sizes, from home aquariums to some of the largest public aquariums in Australia and New Zealand. We created Aquarium School to make expert aquarium knowledge accessible to anyone who wants to build their confidence and improve the health of their fish.
Throughout this course, we explain key aquarium concepts in an easy-to-understand format, including the science behind water quality and the nitrogen cycle. By understanding these fundamentals, you'll be better equipped to create a healthy environment for your fish and reduce the risk of disease developing in your aquarium.
Course Format
The course is primarily video-based and can be completed at your own pace. At the end of the course, you'll complete a short assessment to test your knowledge. Upon successful completion, you'll receive a Certificate of Completion.
